Shout Hearts — Children's Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 28, 2026

At Shout Hearts, we are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of children. This Children's Privacy Policy explains our data collection, disclosure, and parental consent practices for our web-based emotional education application accessed via desktop and mobile browsers at Shouthearts.com.

Our practices comply strictly with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect student records, we do not sell data, and we do not track children for behavioral advertising purposes.

1. Information We Collect From Children

We minimize data collection to protect your child. We only collect the following information directly from a child user inside our web application:

  • Nicknames: We ask for a nickname to personalize the dashboard experience. We do not collect full names, email addresses, or phone numbers from children.
  • Mood Logs and Progress Tracking:We track your child's emotional check-ins (e.g., matching feelings to activities) to generate progress trends. This data is used solely to show growth over time to the child and the parent.

2. Information Collected Automatically (Persistent Identifiers)

We do not use tracking cookies or behavioral advertising inside the authenticated user application. Our backend database provider (Supabase) automatically logs limited technical data (such as IP addresses or session tokens) strictly to support our internal operations. This includes maintaining web performance, preventing fraud, and keeping user sessions secure.

3. How We Use, Share, and Aggregate Information

The individual data we collect is strictly confidential.

  • Data Aggregation and Anonymization:We may combine your child's anonymized mood metrics with data from other users to create large, generalized statistical reports (e.g., "75% of users reported improved moods after using the app"). These reports are entirely anonymous, contain no names or identifiers, and are used for educational research and broad platform analytics.
  • No Third-Party Sharing:We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any individual child's data or mood logs to third-party advertisers, marketers, or companies.
  • School Referrals: If you were referred to Shout Hearts by a school, please note that no individual student data or personal mood history is ever shared back with the school, teachers, or administrators.
  • Service Providers: Data is securely stored using Supabase cloud infrastructure, which acts as our data processor under strict security protocols.

4. Verifiable Parental Consent & Control

Because Shout Hearts is a web-based, subscription platform, parental consent and account control are established when an adult completes a paid subscription transaction via our secure payment processor, Stripe.

Parents retain complete control over their child's data at all times. You have the right to:

  • Review the data we have stored for your child.
  • Request that we delete your child's data entirely.
  • Refuse to permit further collection or use of your child's information.

To exercise these rights or request complete account deletion, please email us directly at support@shouthearts.com from the email address linked to your Stripe subscription account.
